A Bit of Creativity (OOTD)

A lot of bloggers I read believe that if you look after your appearance and dress up, it gives you a confidence and energy boost. I happen to agree with this, though it doesn't work every time of course. You can't deal with grief or anger or shame just by putting on pretty clothes, but I find it helps to perk up a bla day and sometimes it does actually help you prepare to deal with deeper issues (I read a great blog post about that, but can I remember where or what it was? No!). Today was a bla day that needed dressing up. I also got the urge to do something crazy and since I have enough self-control not to book flights to Australia on a whim, makeup occurred.

Too bad I'm actually a terrible artist :(

Headband, two necklaces, brooch (attached to bra strap, oh yeah). So many accessories!!!

  1. That little curl is a rat tail? So I'm not the only one who's growing one and thinks that rat tails are nice!

    1. Yes, it is a rat's tail! I love my ratty. My hair is wavy, except because I twirl my ratty around my fingers all the time it's curly, which I love. I think it's nearly 10 inches long, too.

Yay that you have a rat's tail too! I think they are pretty cool, especially on girls because it's such a "guy" thing to do.

    2. I'm a guy but I also like rat tails on girls. Even my rat tail is 10 inches long and it's curly, so it seems shorter when unbraided, but I'm too lazy to braid it everyday.
Now I'm thinking about cutting my hair very short leaving only the tail long, like yours, but before I have to find a pic from the back of someone who has this haircut, because I don't know if I'll like the contrast between the buzzed hair and the long tail.

    3. Just put a post up for you with a couple of photos of the back of my hair. Probably not quite the look you're wanting to see, but it's how mine is. I don't like the complete contrast between short and long, so I chose to do mine differently.

And you can see my original title typo in the URL xD

  2. Be still my heart--white on navy polka dots is one of my favorite things. And are those...polkadot shoes? :)

    1. Yeah I love white on navy polka dots too. They look so fresh and sophisticated at the same time. Yes, they are! They're a lighter blue than my top, but my shoes are blue with white polka dots.

Haha I just went to your profile and clicked on "Teapots and Polka Dots" (and the background to that blog matches my shoes perfectly!) and saw the first post referencing "The Hubby" and started freaking out because I was sure you weren't married. Then I saw that someone else posted it. Whew!

  3. Oh goodness, I love everything about this! High-waisted skirts are an especial love of mine. All these colors are luscious, and I can totally imagine myself in this, as we appear to be shaped almost identically.

    1. Thanks! This skirt is mega big around the waist so I always have to wear a big belt to cover the back of it xD I'm a huge fan of bright colours, so I am making it my mission this winter to wear lots of bright!
